The low-down on restaurant manager Sindi Claire Voigt.
Restaurant manager Sindi Claire Voigt has been the friendly face at Sodwana Bay Lodge’s Leatherbacks Restaurant for the past 10 years. And she’s loved every minute of it.
Among the numerous management tasks, she simply loves meeting new people. ‘Truly connecting with people is my passion,’ she said.
Sindi’s experience is vast: from managing a hotel and restaurant in London and assisting at the Green & Gold Restaurant in Johannesburg to working for the Restaurant Association of South Africa, she’s done it all.
She has her work cut out at Leatherbacks, but says, ‘I wouldn’t want it any different. I’m a workaholic through and through.’ For relaxation, you guessed it: it’s more work, because she’s discovered a passion for woodworking. But she does find time to spend with her adopted stray feline Socks too.
Among Leatherbacks’ many knock-out dishes, Sindi’s favourites are the Moroccan Chicken Pasta and Lamb Curry. Her signature drink is brandy and Coke, but she’s been known to enjoy a good beer here and there too.
