As the first point of contact, reception staff play a vital role, and we’re proud to introduce the two ladies who keep things running smoothly at the front desk – Shado Nsele and Lihle Mthembu. Together with lodge manager Didi Kriek, they create a first-class guest experience with their dedication, charm and passion for hospitality.

Meet Shado Nsele

Shado joined the Sodwana Bay Lodge team in November 2021 and has since been a beacon of warmth and efficiency at the reception desk. With a diploma in Public Relations Management under her belt, she thrives in an environment where she can meet people from all over the world. ‘I just love learning about other cultures,’ she says.

Beyond her professional aspirations, Shado is a beach lover at heart and enjoys exploring new destinations across South Africa in her spare time. She has a penchant for spicy food, a glass of good wine and cherishes time with her four-year-old son. With her passion and commitment, she hopes to grow and excel even further in her role at the lodge.

Meet Lihle Mthembu

With four years at Sodwana Bay Lodge and six years of prior experience in the restaurant industry, Lihle is no stranger to the fast-paced world of hospitality. But for her, it’s not just a job – it’s a passion. ‘I just love the responsibility of my position,’ she says.

Lihle is a powerhouse of energy and doesn’t believe in taking it easy. Even in her downtime, she keeps her hands busy with basket-making and other crafts. A devoted mother to her ten-year-old son, she balances her work and personal life with dedication and enthusiasm.
