Africa's two oldest game reserves (1895), linking the Corridor Reserve makes up 96000ha park where the "Big 5" and others like the elusive cheetah can be seen.
In the heart of Zululand,the game reserve offers visitors activities - from self guided walks, auto-trails, game drives as well as picnic sites. Viewing hides overlook pans and waterholes enabling visitors to see animals at close range.
Drive towards Hluhluwe on the R22 from Sodwana Bay Lodge. Once you have gone through the town of Hluhluwe you carry on straight over the bridge and head into the gates of the park. It is about an hour and twenty minute drive from Sodwana Bay Lodge.

 


Amerello Bush Golf Lodge -(+27) 35 562 3182
Amerello lies adjacent to the world famous Phinda and Manywama game reserves and is a mere 15 minute drive from the Hluhlue/Umfolozi and False Bay game reserves.
It exists in the heart of the Elephant coast and on the doorstep of Sdwana Bay and Zululand. The St. Lucia world heritage site lies 30km down the road and countless game farms in the area offer Big 5 game viewing.
Drive towards Hluhluwe from Sodwana Bay Lodge on the R22. Amerello is about 10km before the town of Hluhluwe on the right hand side.

 


Tembe Elephant Park - (4x4 Vehicles only)
Tembe Elephant Park is not for the faint hearted and boasts some of the oldest and biggest elephants in Southern Africa.
Due to the fact that the Tembe Elephant park borders on mozambique , the elephants are very elusive and some even aggressive towards humans as a result of the Mozambiquan war which has scared the animals and has been carried forth through the generations.
Drive from the Sodwana Bay Lodge towards Mbazwana and head straight around the traffic circle to the T-junction. At the T-junction turn left. At the first stop street turn right and head towards the Mozambiquan border following the signs to Farazela(the border post).
After about 60km you should reach a circle at which you turn left and head towards the Jozini dam and Ubomobo Mountains. After about 15km you will see signposts for Tembe Elephant Park which on the right hand side before the Ndumo Game Reserve.

 


Ndumo Game Reserve - (+27) 35 591 0004
Ndumo, a Kwazulu-Natal game reserve in South Africa is characterized by beautiful pans, extensive wetlands, yellow fever trees, wetland reed beds, acacia savannah and sand forest.
The divers and varied habitat also plays host to an impressive range of birdlife such as the Black egret, Pelicans and Pygmy geese. The keen birder can also enjoy rewarding sightings of Pell's fishing owl, the Broadbill and Southern bandaed snake eagle.
Drive from the Sodwana Bay Lodge towards Mbazwana and head straight around the traffic circle to the T-junction. At the T-junction turn left. At the first stop street turn right and head towards the Mozambiquan border following the signs to Farazela(the border post).
